Pierre Soubeyran, MD, PhD :

Pr. Pierre Soubeyran earned his Medical Degree from the University of Nantes in France and trained in Medical Oncology at the Institut Bergonié and University of Bordeaux. He completed a fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and later obtained his PhD at the University of Bordeaux in the field of minimal residual disease in follicular lymphoma.

In 2012, he became Director of the INCa-accredited Center for Integrated Cancer Research of Bordeaux named BRIO (Bordeaux Recherche Intégrée Oncologie). He is co-coordinator of the INCa – accredited Coordination Unit of Geriatric Oncology of Bordeaux and is a Professor of Medical Oncology at the University of Bordeaux.

Since 2015, Pr. Pierre Soubeyran is Director of the INSERM unit U1218 ACTION (Actions for Oncogenesis understanding and Target Identification in Oncology). He is Coordinator of the Hematology and Geriatric Oncology Research Groups at Institut Bergonié. Since 2016, he is Head of Clinical Research at Institut Bergonié.

Pr. Pierre Soubeyran’s clinical interests include clinical and biological research on lymphoma and geriatric oncology. His work in geriatric oncology aim to provide clinical and social approaches adapted to these elderly patients. He is leading trials focused on these topics as part of the French GOELAMS Hematology Research Group and the French National Cancer Institute (INCa).

In 2016, he received the B.J. Kennedy Award and Lecture for Scientific Excellence in Geriatric Oncology during the ASCO Annual Meeting in Chicago.

He has authored and co-authored numerous articles, book chapters and monographs on various aspects of cancer treatment.

He is a member of ESMO, ASCO, ASH and SIOG.
